On August 16th, 2001 the area's only year-round "LIVE" DINNER THEATER opened here in Historic Gettysburg, Pa. With featured shows Tuesday thru Saturday nights at 7:00 pm the "CIVIL WAR ERA DINNER THEATER" features CIVIL WAR ERA MAGIC, as performed by CIVIL WAR ERA MAGICIAN, PROFESSOR KERRIGAN, in both the Close-up and Parlor formats, an "OLD TIME STORYTELLER- a "likeable old coot", kind of a cross between Walter Brennan and "Gabby" Hayes, if you can picture that, who tells STORIES ABOUT LIFE AS A CIVILIAN DURING THE GREAT BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG and relates some of the more popular "GHOST STORIES" that have been attributed to the town, and a RE-CREATION OF A CIVIL WAR ERA SEANCE. The SEANCE is just a theatrical re-creation and not the real thing, although 'til it's all over you may find yourself questioning, in your own mind, whether what you just experienced was perhaps supernatural or not. For Valentine's Day (and our anniversary) Kelly and I enjoyed a great dinner and fantastic performance at the Fairfield Inn! Joe was simply outstanding in his multiple-persona role as a civil-war era magician/illusionist, the "old-timer" telling ghost stories of the battle and replicating some of the séance techniques used during the spiritualism era which flourished during and after the war.
Having previously been to the Inn for an investigation of paranormal activity, we were both acquainted with its charm and the praise for your performance. However, I must admit it exceeded all expectations -- no superlative is too good to describe it!
The combination of an excellent dinner and superb presentation in a haunted and historic facility is hard to beat! Kelly and I cannot think of anything we've enjoyed more!
